Barton Springs Stays Hot with 4-2 Win
|
The Barton Springs Blues locked up a win at Blues Field, knocking off the Ottawa Fat Cats, 4-2. On the mound for Barton Springs was right-hander Dan Gibbs. He played a major role in the triumph. Gibbs picked up the win for Barton Springs, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Fernando Rivera.
Chris Wolfe had a big 2-run double for the Blues in the bottom of the third inning. With Barton Springs leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Bailey Marshall and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blues ahead, 4-0.
"Dan had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Barton Springs manager Francisco Pelaez.
At 17-5, the Blues claim first place in the Menard's AA.
