Polar Bears Best Pierogis in Pitching Duel
In a tight contest between the Billings Polar Bears and the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, John Thomas was the determining factor. The Billings right-hander sparkled in his team's 1-0 win. Billings is second in the Menard's AA with a record of 15-7.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Polar Bears had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when third baseman Joe Emery hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Eduardo Rocha and made the score 1-0, Polar Bears. Emery was 1 for 4.
