The Virginia Beach Whales cruised to a win over the Arizona Javelina, 14-4, at Javelina Ballpark. Daniel Eglinton, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in RBI with 21, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Virginia Beach. Lewis Jones was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Lonnie Baldazo. The save was credited to Ted Green, his 1st.

Victor Cals had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the third for Virginia Beach. With the bases loaded and the Whales leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"We lit up the scoreboard," said Virginia Beach manager Wilson López.

With the win, the Whales have a record of 13-12.
