With shortstop Walt Hill leading the charge, the Casper Ghosts defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 14-5, at The Graveyard. Hill, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 3, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The third-place Ghosts improved to 16-10.

With Casper leading 6-1 in the bottom of the second, Hill batted against Virginia Beach pitcher Eduardo Fajardo. Hill hit a splitter to right for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Ghosts on top, 10-1.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Casper manager Jerry Duke. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
