Ryan Glover pitched well, but his team, the Barton Springs Blues, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Virginia Beach Whales at Blues Field. Sosa Kiyomizu picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-0 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 3 in 5 innings, while yielding 1 run.

The Whales got an important contribution from first baseman Jim McSweeney, who in the top of the third knocked a 1-0 sinker to right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Whales ahead, 2-0.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," McSweeney told the Virginia Beach Gazette.
