Loons Rally Late to Nip Farmers

The Minnesota Loons defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 4-3, at Loony Bin. Minnesota second baseman Darrell White had a superb performance. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Michael Sheppard was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Olaf Blees. The win elevated the Loons to 19-9.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, White hit a fastball from Sebastian Mawle for a run-scoring single. The Loons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"If we keep winning the close games," White said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
