The Asheville Highlanders downed the Richland Rails, 5-2, at Rails Ballpark. Tyler Romero led the way, going 3-for-5 for Asheville. Eric Sims finished the game for Asheville and earned his 2nd save. The win puts the Highlanders at 16-13, while the Rails drop to 17-12.

Sean McClendon had a timely hit in the top of the sixth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the Asheville left fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Highlanders in front, 3-2.

"I still think this team can play even better," Romero told the Asheville Bulletin.
