Dolphins Take Tight Tangle
The Pine Island Dolphins topped the Virginia Beach Whales, 10-9, with youngster Roberto Vargo playing a key role. Vargo went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Dolphins in the win. Pine Island reliever Fridon Zaminian was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Cristovão Mineiro took the loss. Mark King picked up the save for Pine Island, his 1st of the year.

Ed Taylor drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate against the Whales. With the game tied in the top of the tenth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Pine Island in front, 10-9.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Vargo.
