Cangrejos Fantasmas Get Clutch Win, 7-6
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas defeated the Casper Ghosts, 7-6, at Ghost Crab Park. Chesapeake second baseman Bob Peters had a superb performance. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Carlos Hana earned the save, his 5th, for the Cangrejos Fantasmas. The Ghosts, at 15-15, have lost 4 in a row.
Chesapeake took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Orlando Núñez hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Cangrejos Fantasmas fans to their feet.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Peters said in reaction to the win.
