In a low-scoring contest between the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the Baltimore Bullets, Chris Jackson was the X factor. The Northern Virginia right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Quinton Barnard notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The last-place Bullets have dropped 5 straight games.

Northern Virginia got a game-changing hit from Kenneth Elliott. The pinch hitter blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.

"We have a lot of confidence in Chris," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.
