Pine Island had no answer for 27-year old right-handed pitcher Woody Johnston. The Virginia Beach Whales starter stymied Dolphins hitters, helping the Whales cruise to victory, 10-0. The Whales now own a record of 11-19.

Johnston, a native of Pasadena, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Pine Island hitters off-balance, while giving the Whales 8 quality innings. Johnston threw 93 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Alfonso Dolton.
