The Ottawa Fat Cats defeated the Barton Springs Blues, 4-1, in M3L Double A action at Blues Field. Ottawa pitcher Pierre-Antoine Mauduit had a standout performance. In 8 innings, Mauduit surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Fred Hull got the save, the 7th for him this season.

Ottawa used a well-timed hit by Scott Parker to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Fat Cats ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Mauduit. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

Ottawa is now 13-18. Barton Springs is 17-14.
