Sixshooters Sneak By Farmers, 9-8
|
The Westwood Sixshooters withstood an impressive performance by Lancaster shortstop Ronald Harris to defeat the Farmers, 9-8, at Sixshooters Stadium. Harris went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Westwood reliever Jorge Félix picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ahamyati Tikku took the loss. The 8th-place Farmers have lost 4 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Westwood second baseman James Anderson, facing Matt Montáñez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Sixshooters the 9-8 win.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Anderson.
