The Squirrel Hill Pierogis had to overcome a fine effort from Pine Island pitcher Brian Payne to win, 4-2, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Payne went 9 innings and allowed 4 runs. José Sandoval picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-5. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. Earning his 6th save of the year was Cipriano Flores.

Squirrel Hill used the hitting of Suk-jin Chong to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Pierogis on top, 3-0. For the game, Chong had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Squirrel Hill manager Ben Cooper called it "a pretty good win."
