The Ottawa Fat Cats put together a convincing win at Nationals Park, defeating the Richland Rails, 11-2. Alex Combs was one of the hitting stars. He was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Ottawa. Anthon Arents, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 3-2. The win puts Ottawa at 18-13 this season.

Joe Wilson had a big 2-run double for the Fat Cats in the bottom of the third inning. With Ottawa leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Covington and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fat Cats ahead, 5-0.

Richland manager Eduardo Hernández called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
