Farmers 3-1 Winners Versus Westwood
|
The Lancaster Farmers, despite a fine performance by Westwood pitcher Juan Carlos Rodríguez, grabbed a 3-1 win at Sixshooters Stadium. Rodríguez allowed 3 runs over 5 innings. Sebastian Mawle, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Gideon Paddock notched his 2nd save of the season.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Mark MacPherson to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Farmers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Makes our job easier," said MacPherson, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
Lancaster is 15-17 and Westwood, with the loss, 11-21.
