Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Dolphins
|
The Dolphins faced a stiff challenge from Casper pitcher Kanzaburo Ichikawa, but persevered to claim a win at The Graveyard. The final score was 2-0. Ichikawa went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Fernando López earned the save for Pine Island, his 2nd. The loss makes Casper 18-15.
Melvin Henderson produced at a critical juncture for Pine Island. It happened in the top of the eighth with Gerald Mathews on the mound and Pine Island leading 1-0. That's when the 20-year old third baseman Henderson drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Henderson.
