Patriots Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
The Boston Patriots got a magnificent effort from pitcher Tai sun Rang, who kept Northern Virginia hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Patriots win at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston reliever Juan Sánchez got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Tetsu Gato was tagged with the loss. Northern Virginia, at 41-31, has lost 4 straight.
Vern Gordon was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Rang.
