Vipers Turn Back Rails, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Vancouver Vipers and the Richland Rails, Rafael Videla, who leads the 3AA with a 0.70 ERA, proved to be the difference. The Vancouver right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Vipers win. Adam Hill recorded the save for Vancouver, his 13th of the season. The first-place Vipers hiked their record to 25-8.
Vancouver used the timely hitting of Tony Moore to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vipers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame remarks, Moore hailed his team's "mettle."
