Guinea Pigs Snatch Late Win
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs picked up a win at The Igloo, dropping the Billings Polar Bears, 6-4. Todd Turner, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA in innings pitched with 53.1, was the difference-maker. Glenn Lortkipanidze earned the save, his 7th, for the Guinea Pigs. Gwinnett now sits at 19-15, while Billings falls to 23-11.
Mutsuhito Kiyomizu came through with a big-time hit for Gwinnett. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I still think this team can play even better," Kiyomizu told the Gwinnett Daily News.
