The Panama City Piranhas got a superb performance from pitcher Clemenz Lawrence. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boston. The Patriots won the game, 3-2. Lawrence threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 runs. Boston reliever Mitch Henley picked up the win, raising his record to 6-0. Min Der was tagged with the loss. The Patriots now have a mark of 46-26.
The Patriots relied on second baseman Ángel Soto for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the ninth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"This place was electric at the end," Soto said.
