The Virginia Beach Whales were defeated, 3-2, by the Richland Rails at Virginia Beach Grounds, even though Hou-kang Wu pitched well for Virginia Beach. Richard Stevenson snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 4.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Earning his 5th save of the year was Tomás Navarro.
Danny Kline had a direct impact on the outcome. Kline contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Richland up, 3-1.
