Guinea Pigs Lose Versus Billings, 4-2
|
The Billings Polar Bears handed the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs a 4-2 defeat at The Igloo. Third Baseman Joe Emery starred for Billings. He slugged 2 home runs. James Little picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 2 in 6 innings, while yielding 1 run. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Júlio Nieto.
Had Chris Tucker delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tucker grounded out. The score remained 3-2, Billings, and the Polar Bears were out of the jam.
Billings currently is in first place in the Menard's AA at 24-11.
