Dolphins Suffer 3-2 Loss to Hops
|
The Yakima Hops picked up a win at Hops Park, taking down the Pine Island Dolphins, 3-2. Starting pitcher José Mecedone was a big reason why. Mecedone picked up the win for Yakima, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Clifford Tracy earned save number 1 this season.
Yakima took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, right fielder Bartolo Vásquez hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Vásquez after the game.
With the win, the Hops improved to 16-20.
