The Pine Island Dolphins knocked off the Virginia Beach Whales, 6-2, in M3L Double A action at Virginia Beach Grounds. Pine Island pitcher and Sunrise Manor, Nevada, native Brent Richardson had an outstanding performance. Getting the save was José Zapata, his 7th. Pine Island is 12-24 and Virginia Beach, with the loss, 24-12.
Luis Sandoval was vital to the Pine Island win. He was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the third with two out, Sandoval hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, in favor of the Dolphins.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Richardson.
