Cangrejos Fantasmas Lose By a Run at Yakima
|
The Yakima Hops converted a terrific effort from starter Tim Ryan into a win over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas at Hops Park. The Hops won the game by a final score of 3-2. Ryan yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-3. Javier Acosta earned the save for Yakima, his 1st of the year.
Jurrie Kila had a big 2-run home run for the Hops in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Yakima leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher José Bautista and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hops ahead, 3-0.
"Tim was dictating to their hitters," said Yakima manager Giddy Potts.
Yakima sits in 5th place in the Menard's AA at 19-18.
