Saboteurs Suffer 6-3 Home Defeat
|
The Casper Ghosts picked up a win at Toledo Backyard Park, topping the Toledo Saboteurs, 6-3. On the mound for Casper was left-hander Bryan Wallace. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Wallace. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Arthur Tidwell. Hai-feng Zhu earned the save for Casper, his 9th.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Darrel Baker? The 25-year old center fielder Baker stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Casper up, 3-1. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 3 doubles and 1 single.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Baker, "one at-bat at a time."
The loss makes Toledo 23-14.
