Rails Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
|
Danny Kline was a vital contributor to the 6-5 Richland victory over Pine Island. The Rails center fielder was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Mario Happ picked up the win. His record improves to 2-3. Tyson Blankenship took the loss. Pine Island is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Kline hit a fastball from Andrew Thomas for a run-scoring single. The Rails, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Kline.
