The Toronto Thunder got a good effort from starter Victor Lagers in defeating the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Thunder Field. The final score was 6-2. The winning pitcher was Lagers, now 8-3. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. With the win, the Thunder improved to 37-36.

The Thunder got a big at-bat from shortstop Alberto López. For the game, López went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Toronto a 1-0 lead.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Lagers.
