Eclipse Use Late Score to Top Whales, 5-4
Northville Eclipse starter Claudio Núñez took the mound against the Virginia Beach Whales at Old-Timers Park; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 5-4 win. Northville reliever Nick Brandt picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Lee absorbed the loss. Northville is now 21-20, while Virginia Beach is 14-27.

The Eclipse got a clutch hit from first baseman Ángel Macías. In the bottom of the 16th, he hit a run-scoring single to right-center, to win the game for the Eclipse.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Núñez.
