Rails Lose, 5-4, in 11
|
The Westwood Sixshooters faced a tenacious opponent in Richland pitcher Ricardo Tirado, but still scratched out a win at Sixshooters Stadium by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Tirado went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Joe Smith, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed 3 runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The victory makes Westwood 12-29.
Troy Swati played the role of hero for Westwood. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a 2-run home run off Kent Coleman to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Exhilarating win," said Swati.
