Dolphins Snag 7-4 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Brandon Denning, the Pine Island Dolphins stopped the Minnesota Loons, 7-4. Denning went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Dolphins. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Bryan Abdale in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kun Yi took the loss. The Dolphins are now 22-20.
Pine Island took a 7-4 lead on Gerald Stufi's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Stufi hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minnesota pitcher Kun Yi visibly frustrated.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Denning told the Pine Island Today.
