Durán Goes Deep Twice, Helps Guinea Pigs Top Whales, 10-6
A 6-RBI performance from the 25-year old left fielder Carlos Durán helped the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs beat the Virginia Beach Whales, 10-6. Rod Pritchard was the winner. He's now 3-2. The loser was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Sosa Kiyomizu. Gwinnett sits in 5th place in the Menard's AA at 24-18.

With Gwinnett leading 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth, Durán batted against Virginia Beach pitcher Rusty Russell. Durán hit a slider to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Guinea Pigs on top, 9-4.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Durán.
