Sixshooters Rally Late to Clip Arizona
|
Arizona first baseman Gary Sharpe had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Sharpe went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times, even as Westwood beat the Javelina, 8-7. The win was credited to Aarto Taipale in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Pedro De Jesús took the loss. Westwood now sports a record of 18-26.
The most important at-bat for Westwood came in the top of the 12th inning. With one out, Bryan White reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run, putting Westwood up, 8-7.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Westwood skipper Doug Burton.
