Behind a fine performance from John Gotaas, the Northville Eclipse knocked off the Yakima Hops, 9-4. Gotaas went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Eclipse. Ensio Helminen, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The Eclipse are now 23-21, while the Hops fall to 20-24.

Had Adrik Wirgasoff not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Wirgasoff hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Eclipse.

"Solid performance from our side," said Eclipse manager Daniel Katz.
