Minnesota pitcher Jeff Benson did his part in helping his team beat the Tacoma Fur Traders, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Benson, now 7-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 11, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. With the victory, the Loons upped their record to 27-18.

Left Fielder José Galindo made an impact for Minnesota, when he swatted a 2-run double off Kent Nelson in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Galindo went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Jeff was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Minnesota manager Calvin Beck.
