Farmers Come Back Late to Top Whales, 4-2
Virginia Beach wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Connor Drake, falling to the Lancaster Farmers, 4-2. Drake threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Eugene Brewer in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Damon Colcott took the loss. Lancaster is now 29-20. Virginia Beach is 29-20.

Lancaster used a timely hit from Frank Gould to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Farmers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We did a lot of things right," said Gould.
