Norberto González, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA with a 8.0 K/9 rate, never let the Loons get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Eclipse to a win, 3-1. González, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Patrick Wilder, number 9 for him.
Northville used a well-timed hit by Keith Day to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said González.
The Eclipse go to 28-22, putting them 4th in the Menard's AA.
