Getting a good performance from right fielder Szeto Liu, the Ottawa Fat Cats defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 9-5. Liu was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Fat Cats. Ottawa is third in the Menard's AA with a record of 30-21.

Ottawa used the clutch hitting of Robbie Shaw to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Fat Cats the lead, 7-4. For the game, Shaw had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ottawa skipper Jorge Carranza.
