The Casper Ghosts faced a tough opponent in Pine Island pitcher Paul Clark, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Goodyear Hanger Dome by a final score of 5-3. Clark went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. The win was credited to Gerald Mathews in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Silas Jacobs took the loss. Calvin Godwin recorded his 2nd save for Casper.

Casper used a timely hit from Mike Blake to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 14th inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Ghosts manager Jerry Duke.

The slumping Dolphins have lost 7 straight.
