Farmers Knock Off Sixshooters at Farmers Field
|
The Lancaster Farmers picked up a win at Farmers Field, downing the Westwood Sixshooters, 5-1. On the mound for Lancaster was right-hander Mike Nelson, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Nelson. He threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Kent Stephens. The 4th-place Farmers now have a record of 29-23.
Ronald Harris's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 1-1. The Lancaster shortstop hit a run-scoring single off Kent Stephens to put the Farmers up.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Harris told the Lancaster Today.
