Hops first baseman Peyton Nelson left his mark on his team's 9-7 win over the Virginia Beach Whales. Nelson, who is tied for 5th in the 3AA with a .404 on-base percentage, went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Yakima in the contest. Marv Thomas got the save, the 1st for him this season. Yakima is 9th in the Menard's AA with a record of 26-28.

In the top of the eighth, Nelson put his team in front with his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Desi Riley, made it 8-6, Yakima.
