The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Buffalo White Walkers, 7-6, at Beyond the Wall. Harvey Thomas, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. The winner in relief was Cristián Hernández. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Juan Carlos Mejía picked up the save for Northern Virginia, his 13th of the year.

Chipping in for Northern Virginia was second baseman Carlos Ríos. He stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, Ríos went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
