O'Shea Hits 2 home runs in Hops Win
Yakima and Pine Island duked it out and the Hops came out victorious.

The Yakima Hops topped the Pine Island Dolphins, 6-3, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Yakima shortstop Rick O'Shea was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Daniel Cummins earned the win for Yakima. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. Ray Melton closed it out for Yakima, earning his 11th save.

With Yakima leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, O'Shea hit a splitter from Doeke Pouwelse for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Hops ahead, 3-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Hops manager Juan Valéncia.

Yakima raised its record to 35-20 with the win.
