In a low-scoring contest between the Providence Pilgrims and the Virginia Beach Whales, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Salvador Rosas proved to be the difference. The Providence right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Pilgrims win. Earning his 1st save for Providence was Alex Wicksted. The victory gives Providence a record of 28-27.

Cody Hanson, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in doubles with 11, helped out the Providence cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 3-4 with 3 singles.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Providence manager Arturo Rochel. "It's usually not just one thing."
