Farmers Victorious at Westwood, 9-5
|
Kernie LeBlanc had a good game, but he could not keep the Westwood Sixshooters from falling, 9-5, to the Lancaster Farmers at Sixshooters Stadium. The Westwood center fielder went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 in the loss. Fjodor Ishemgujin was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he yielded 5 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Lancaster, at 26-30, sits in 7th place in the Menard's AA.
With one out in the top of the second, Ronald Harris put Lancaster in front, 5-1, with a 2-run single. The Farmers went on to win the ballgame.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Harris told the Lancaster Bulletin.
