Eclipse Chop Down Farmers, 6-3
|
Though he had a terrific game, Francisco Fermin could not prevent his team, the Lancaster Farmers, from absorbing a loss. Northville won the game, 6-3. Fermin went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Norberto González. He's now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Eclipse. Northville is now 31-25, Lancaster 31-25.
Joe McQueen drove in one run for Northville. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, McQueen had a clutch at-bat. Facing Lancaster hurler Tony Oliver, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Eclipse a 4-3 lead.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," McQueen told the Northville News. "It's as simple as that."
