The Squirrel Hill Pierogis topped the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-3, in M3L Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. The game was highlighted by the performance of Squirrel Hill pitcher Tucker Gross. The Pierogis go to 34-26, putting them second in the Menard's AA.

In the bottom of the seventh, Squirrel Hill pinch hitter Jeff Burton hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it 3-2, Pierogis.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Gross.
