The Virginia Beach Whales locked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, knocking off the Casper Ghosts, 4-2. On the mound for Virginia Beach was right-hander Connor Drake. He played a major role in the triumph. With the win, Virginia Beach pushed its record to 34-27.

Rover Diggins had a big 2-run double for the Whales in the bottom of the third inning. With Virginia Beach leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from Júlio Ramírez, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in wins with 5, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whales ahead, 3-0.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Diggins told the Virginia Beach Gazette.
