Dolphins Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Westwood
|
The Pine Island Dolphins picked up a win at Sixshooters Stadium, taking down the Westwood Sixshooters, 3-1. Starting pitcher Brady Thomas was a big reason why. Pine Island reliever Adam Britt picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Irving Bouman was tagged with the loss. Cliff Keir, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AA in saves with 17, nailed down the save.
Pine Island used the timely hitting of Juan Fuentes to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dolphins on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Fuentes.
Pine Island is now 39-23, Westwood 29-33.
