Loons Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
Virginia Beach wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Miguel Martínez, falling to the Minnesota Loons, 4-3. Martínez threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up his 1st save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Shields. The Loons, at 39-24, sit in second place in the Menard's AA.

Minnesota used a clutch hit from Wen-huan Bi to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Loons ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

Minnesota manager Calvin Beck was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
